PILE VIDEO & ANODE SURVEY

Anode - The Anode Survey is to evaluate the anode condition, and percentage remaining, We Diving Task in Hong Kong offers the following three levels of pile visual inspection services:

Level I - General Visual Inspection:

This inspection confirms the accuracy of as-built structural plans and identifies any obvious major damage or deterioration caused by collisions, severe corrosion, or extensive biological growth and attack.

Level II - Close-Up Visual Inspection:

This involves a thorough investigation of selected components or critical areas of the structure. The aim is to detect and describe damaged or deteriorated areas that may be obscured by surface biofouling.

Level III - Highly Detailed Inspection:

This inspection is designed to gather data necessary for a structural assessment. It often requires the use of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques to identify hidden or imminent damage, loss of cross-sectional area, and material homogeneity.

Anode Inspection:

Anode surveys assess the condition of the anodes, including the percentage remaining or whether they are completely depleted. If necessary, we can replace or install a new set of anodes on the structure. Anodes, made of zinc and aluminum alloy, help prevent corrosion of iron, extending the lifespan of steel underwater. There are two types of anodes available: impressed current anodes and sacrificial anodes. Most small structures utilize sacrificial anodes, which need to be replaced as they corrode to protect the metal beneath the water. or completely depleted. if needed we can replace or install a new set of Anodes on the structure.

Anode is a material made of zinc, and aluminum alloy which prevents the iron from corrosion to keep the steel life longer underwater. There are 2 kinds of anode available an impress current anode and a sacrificial anode. most of the small structures use sacrificial anode and that need to replace the ones they get sacrificed to protect the metal underwater.
